What We’re All About

The Emerging Leaders Committee (ELC) is a movement dedicated to cementing a better future for all. Based in Colorado, we are an active and enthusiastic group of CPHA members with events and activities taking place year-round. We like to keep up the energy and excitement, always welcoming new members to take part.

We invite students and early careerists (within 5 years of their most recent education level) to get involved at all levels of our committee. We strive to represent Emerging Leader interests within CPHA and our community, while educating, mentoring, and encouraging all. So whether you're young or young-at-heart, you too will gain access to a community of people who are just as passionate as you are!

Scholarships

The ELC created a scholarship for our Public Health in the Rockies and Culture of Data annual conferences. Through this scholarship fund, we have been able to double the number of students and young professionals who are able to attend our conferences each year.

Leadership

ELC Delegates highlight and allow new or transitioning public health professionals to take on new challenges and build their skills within CPHA. Delegates engage in CPHA's diverse committees, launching innovative initiatives, and contributing on ELC projects and programming.

Volunteering

Recognizing the enormity of the challenges our society faces, ELC is dedicated to making a lasting impact. While our efforts are driven by our organization’s focus, we strive to volunteer in the community through a variety of projects.

Mentorship

By creating a space where professionals from all backgrounds can meet, chat, network, and build relationships, we believe each individual can grow exponentially. Every year, we offer a mentorship program with a community that’s committed to helping one another.

Networking

ELC was organized around the simple idea that when we collaborate together, we’re at our best. We invite you to be your best self; explore, teach, learn, and grow with new and experienced public health professionals from across Colorado.

You'll find the ELC gathering at unique social events year-round! We are constantly growing and adapting to provide new opportunities for engaging students and early careerists. Each social event, workshop, mixer, and webinar is dedicated to building up our future public health workforce.
