Membership Committee

The Membership team is dedicated to serving CPHA Members and the CPHA Board of Directors. We develop and implement strategies for recruitment and retention of Members in the Association, conduct regular surveys of our membership, and share results with the Board of Directors along with recommendations and plans for increasing overall engagement. The committee also engages in and supports organizational development activities such as press and public relations.

What does an average committee meeting look like?

Membership meetings are shared with the Communications committee, as we often work hand in hand on many initiatives. During meetings we share updates related to current projects, seek feedback and guidance from committee members, and review progress toward current goals.

What dates and times do you meet?

The committee convenes online on a monthly basis. Currently the Membership Committee meets for one hour per month, from 12:00pm – 1:00pm on the 3rd Wednesday of the month. We may also convene ad hoc meetings outside of this time to collaborate on various projects as the need arises. Members are invited and encouraged to join any ad hoc meetings but are not required to do so.

What are the responsibilities and expectations that you have of committee members?

We expect attendance at monthly meetings and/or regular communication via email. As a group of volunteers, we rely on individuals to lead or contribute to membership initiatives. Members may participate in tasks such as providing feedback on current projects and upcoming communications, contributing to survey development, planning and supporting membership recruitment activities, and more.

What value can members gain from joining or participating in your committee?

This is an incredibly fun and rewarding Committee to work with, especially if you are a people person! This committee, in partnership with the Communications committee, allows individuals to apply and grow their skills in areas ranging from membership recruitment and retention to networking and event coordination to survey development and data collection and more. It is an excellent way to be introduced to CPHA and to connect with others in the Colorado public health community.

Current Goals

MEMBERSHIP

Define membership benefits according to updated offerings
Develop and launch a membership retention plan.

WEBSITE OVERHAUL

Initiate a website overhaul to better illustrate membership benefits, resources, and public health tools

SURVEY

Finalize a systematic plan for an annual membership survey in April 2023.
Develop cadence for collecting regular data on membership and analyze trends.

PRACTICUM

Complete CPHA practicum guidelines, and launch the first student practicum student in Summer 2023.
