Hridith Sudev

Emerging Leader Seat

Hridith Sudev is an onco-epidemiologist, community organizer, healthcare development and operations consultant, and author. Born in India and raised in Oman before moving to the United States in 2018, he has worked across two continents to advance environmental justice, health access parity, and improved community health outcomes. His research focuses on identifying syndemic risk factors for cancer, evaluating clinical trials, improving rural health access, and addressing socioeconomic and racial disparities in nutrition, social determinants of health, cancer care outcomes, maternal and child mortality, and chronic disease related mortality. Sudev also works with Level-1 trauma centers across the Front Range region to research injury and violence prevention, particularly among young black and brown men.

Outside of his day job, Sudev is a voracious organizer. In 2021, Sudev founded Colectivo de Paz, a Colorado-based grassroots non-profit dedicated to improving the social determinants of health for historically underserved peoples and families in the greater Denver metro area by combining wraparound responsive services with sustained proactive advocacy. As President of Colectivo de Paz, he has overseen organizational operations that serve over 3, 500 people annually, and has distributed over 12,500 hot meals to Denver's unhoused community. For these contributions to community health improvement in Denver, Sudev was the recipient of the Colorado Public Health Association’s 2024 Emerging Leader of the Year award. He is also a published poet and a national speaker on social justice, social determinants of health, criminal justice reform, immigrant/refugee health and rural health access.

Sudev holds Bachelor’s degrees in Biology and Public Policy from the University of Denver, a Masters in Public Health from the Colorado School of Public Health at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus; and is currently a candidate for Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) in Social Epidemiology at Mercer University. Sudev splits his time between Atlanta, GA and Denver, CO; and through his work, art, and advocacy, is dedicated to creating self-reliant and liberated communities in Colorado and beyond.
