Roberta Smith MSPH, RN, CIC, CIH, has over 25 years of experience in the fields of public health, occupational health, industrial hygiene, safety and infection control. She holds Bachelor of Science degrees in environmental health and in nursing. She holds a Master’s of Science in Public Health and certifications in infection control and industrial hygiene. She currently is Director of Public Health for Routt County in Colorado. In this role, she helps guide a staff of five talented professionals to provide the core Public Health services for Routt County. In addition, she provides leadership through her affiliations professional practice organizations, and is an influencer in the many ways that an public health programs can assist in keeping communities healthy and safe. In 2007, fresh out of nursing school, she became the President of the then PHNAC organization and is thilled to again provide leadership for Colorado Public Health Nurses. Even before it was hip, Ms. Smith touted hand hygiene and covering your cough to prevent the spread of respiratory illnesses.
