Jason Wright
President - Elect
Dr. Jason M. Wright brings over 15 years of combined experience as a physician and public health leader to his role as President-Elect of the Colorado Public Health Association (CPHA). A passionate advocate for health equity, Dr. Wright is committed to advancing innovative, data-driven strategies that address the social and political determinants of health disparities.
Currently serving as the Data & Surveillance Unit (DSU) supervisor and lead health equity epidemiologist within DCPHR Division’s Health Equity Branch at the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), Jason directs initiatives that leverage data analytics to drive equitable public health outcomes. His achievements include designing and implementing a CDC-funded surveillance system for monitoring social determinants of health and spearheading the award-winning Colorado Kindergarten MMR Health Equity Dashboard, which enhances understanding of immunization disparities statewide.
Jason's academic background includes a Doctor of Medicine from Ross University School of Medicine, a Master of Public Health from the University of Colorado, and a Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Administration from the University of Denver. He also completed residency training in General Surgery and Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, bringing a multidisciplinary lens to his work in public health.
As an active member of CPHA, the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), and the Stanford Medical Alliance for Disability, Inclusion, and Equity (SMADIE), Jason has contributed to advancing health equity in Colorado and across the United States. He is recognized for his inclusive and human-centered leadership styles, commitment to innovation, and dedication to fostering partnerships that empower diverse communities and representative workforces.
