American Public Health Association
The Colorado Public Health Association has a voice at the American Public Health Association's (APHA) Governing Council. Every State Affiliate has a representative who attends the annual APHA Governing Council meeting. The Governing Council votes on policies, approves budgets, and elects representatives to the Board of APHA.
There is also a Council on Affiliates, to which each region elects a representative. Colorado's Region includes Wyoming, North and South Dakota, Montana, and Utah. The Council on Affiliates has a seat at the Executive Board, and speaks for public health from a regional perspective.
APHA members in Colorado who want a voice encompassing public health from a state perspective should join CPHA and become active beyond their discipline or APHA section/caucus/special interest group.
Additionally, membership in APHA and CPHA affords CPHA a rebate based on each APHA member, so CPHA is doubly supported.
